7 Keys to Overcome Obstacles & Accomplish More
If you want to accomplish anything you must successfully overcome obstacles. You are familiar with opposition. It manifests itself whenever you consider trying something new or doing something you don’t want to do. It’s that nagging sensation in your gut or chest. Those who succumb to resistance are often those who struggle with life.
When you’re contemplating going to the gym, working on a job report, calling the in-laws, or mowing the lawn, resistance can hit. Procrastination is the result of resistance from the obstacles you feel are in your way.
7 Keys to Overcome Obstacles & Accomplish More Tasks:
- It’s simply a sensation in your body. Your brain is superb at dissuading you from doing activities that it perceives as potentially risky. However, obstacles are merely an unpleasant sensation. You can manage with a little slight discomfort and keep your objectives on track.
- Take note of it. One of the most effective methods to overcome obstacles is to approach it objectively, like a scientist would. “Hmm, isn’t it interesting?” you may think. When I consider going for a run, I get a tiny sick feeling in the pit of my stomach.”
Maintain your observation and something interesting will occur. The bad emotion will begin to go away.
- Avoid fleeing. The typical reaction is to divert your attention. You might turn on the television, go online, or eat a cookie, depending on your habits. This is a grave error. So, bear your agony till it passes. Running away promotes the pattern of succumbing to resistance.
- Eliminate any distractions. However, don’t allow the process of removing distractions to become a distraction in itself. If you’re not careful, you’ll find yourself determined to clean the entire house when all you really need to do is put your phone away and clear off the desk.
- Concentrate on your breath. Concentrating on your breath will cause your mind to shut down. You can’t think about how much you you’re scared of something if you’re preoccupied with your breath.
- Remind yourself of the significance of this task. What is the point of completing it? A more wholesome body? Increased earnings? Have a good reason and you’ll be more motivated.
- Recognize that the first step is the most challenging. Avoid thinking about sitting at your desk and working on a report for the next three hours. Instead, think about sitting down in front of the computer with a cup of coffee and typing the first word.
Conclusion
Do whatever it takes to make that first step. Everything that follows is much easier. You’ll often find yourself surprised by how easy the task was to complete once you got started. Overcoming obstacles becomes even easier when you apply these tips.
In conclusion, everyone deals with obstacles each and every day. It’s part of the human condition. We naturally avoid those things that are perceived as unpleasant. However, your success is limited by how much you allow obstacles to rule your decisions. Use these strategies consistently and you’ll be back in charge of your life.
If you require any additional assistance in dealing with opposition that attempts to sway your judgments, schedule a discovery call and start moving forward now.

Totally me lately, I feel like I don’t take me time, so I squeeze it in in between work time which turns into procrastination. Therefore my day could be more productive 🤷🏼♀️

Robin, First step is recognizing it. Second is doing something about it. xo
