Secret Sauce: Business Development for Coaches
As coaches, our expertise lies in empowering clients and steering them towards their aspirations. However, many of us find the business dimension of coaching to be a hurdle. Our initial motivation for joining this field was to make a meaningful difference, rather than becoming entrenched in the realms of sales and marketing, wouldn’t you agree?
Unleashing Your Authentic Business Development
I totally get it. I used to be the same way. But here’s the truth – if we want to reach more people and have a bigger impact, we need to get comfortable with business development. And the good news is, it doesn’t have to feel salesy or inauthentic. There’s a way to do it that feels aligned with who we are.
The secret sauce for your coaching business is to stay true to your unique personality and gifts. Don’t try to fit a cookie-cutter business model. Get creative and have fun with it!
For example, I love improv comedy. So I leverage humor and storytelling in my marketing. It works for me and my clients love it. But that might not be authentic for you.
Showcasing Your Unique Qualities for Maximum Impact
Think about what makes you different. Are you an incredible listener who makes deep connections? Share inspiring stories about clients you’ve helped. Are you bubbly and enthusiastic? Make short, upbeat videos. Are you calm and meditative? Host relaxing podcasts.
Exploring Creative Tactics: Going Beyond the Norm
Once you tap into your superpower, think beyond the usual tactics like social media posts and email newsletters. Get playful with ideas!
One of my coach friends loves to sing, recording “coaching ditties” for her email list. Another conducts walking meetings with potential clients, fostering bonds while staying active. Personally, I leverage coaching skills to creatively “enroll” clients, urging them to embrace their dreams.
Unleashing Your Authenticity: Redefining Marketing with Joy
When you let your natural personality and talents shine through, marketing stops feeling like a chore. Suddenly you’re lighting up, having fun, and attracting people who vibe with your energy.
And remember, everything counts as business development—how you dress, what you share, who you connect with. It’s all part of your brand.
Embrace Authentic Self: Let Your Light Shine in Marketing
So be confident in who you are. Don’t hide your light under a bushel! When you market from a place of authentic self-expression, you’ll attract your ideal clients. And impact more lives as a result.
You’ve got this. Now get out there and glow!
