Take Back Control of Your Life by Overcoming These 6 Challenges
With so many moving pieces, life may quickly spiral out of control leaving you feeling like you want to take back control. This imbalance is a result of placing an excessive amount of emphasis on a few priorities at the exclusion of others. A well-balanced existence is one that is under control.
Over the years I can remember different occasions when I put too much emphasis on the wrong things. It left me feeling drained, overwhelmed, and frustrated. You can easily lose sight of what’s important when you find the balance of what I am going to share with you. When I put all these into perspective my whole world changed and so can yours.
Take back your equilibrium and regain control of your life with these strategies:
- Possessions. It is easy to pull your life out of balance if you are too focused on material items. You are prone to incurring debt. You may also be experiencing a void within. The thrill of owning a Ferrari wears off with time. Avoid pursuing material items as a source of joy.
My husband was very into material things when we met, and he quickly learned that I wasn’t. Possessions can come and go but people are what is most important in my world.
Similarly, if you lack the items you require, your life is equally imbalanced. Worthwhile assets include dependable transportation, a roof over your head, appropriate clothing, and a telephone.
* Refrain from allowing stuff to dictate your life, but make sure you have what you require.
- Your physical look and health. Investing your focus in your health is imperative and a must. Eating right, exercising, and taking care of yourself. However, too many individuals are too obsessed with their looks that they resort to doing corrective alterations that aren’t necessary or could be dangerous for some. Everyone who lives long enough will ultimately age. Then what will you do?
You can still feel good about yourself and know you are beautiful for who you are, stop letting media dictate stereotyped standards. Everyone is beautiful in their own way. I believe we are all born perfectly imperfect. 😊
This part of your life will be brought into equilibrium if you prioritize your health and embrace your looks.
- Finances. Many individuals equate their self-image with their wealth. This is not a balanced or healthy approach. I remember when I was younger my parents told me I would be successful when I was making at least six figures. That became my goal and by the time I was 23 years old I was making a high six-figure income. My worth was based on my income. Then as years went by the number got higher, I had to make above $250k, then $500k, then $ 1 million. It never ends. There is no correlation between income and happiness. Avoid depending on your sense of self-worth on your income.
Know you are already worthy and deserving and it has no reflection to your income. Set goals and outcomes more to who you can serve than how much you will make. When you use both variables, you will see the more you serve the more you will make.
Having little funds may sometimes put your life out of whack. There will be tension if you cannot pay your expenses and feed your family on a consistent basis. Focus on obtaining the necessary revenue but avoid giving money undue importance.
- Interpersonal Relationships. Relationships are essential, but not the sole aspect of life. If you place all your focus on a single relationship, you may neglect other elements of your life.
Relationships may be a major source of both happiness and stress. If you feel that your life is out of control, you should review your relationships and determine if adjustments are necessary.
Find relationships that bring you joy. Those are the ones worth investing in.
- Career. Many people today are defined by their occupation. How often have people asked you, “What do you do?”? And we would want to state that we are a cardiothoracic surgeon rather than a secretary. But why is it significant?
Remember that you are more than your job title.
*Give work sufficient priority to be successful in your chosen profession, but also keep in mind that you are more than your title.
- Reputation. Once we enter school, we become concerned with others’ opinions. Bringing this mentality into maturity might provide difficulties. Live by your own morals and be a good person. Let that create your reputation from your actions and living a good life.
*Abandon the desire to be admired by everybody. If your friends and family admire you, you are doing above average.
It’s all about balance. Know that when you find that center ground you can achieve all you desire. Stop comparing yourself to others and start using yourself as the benchmark. Each step go even further faster. With the right mindset, anything is possible.
Everyone requires money, but no one requires $100 million. It can feel like an absurd pursuit. Find a balance in your career, your relationships, and your belongings. Take back control of your life by overcoming these challenges you will have created a wonderful place to be happy.
